For most people, gaining weight is more difficult than losing weight. I don’t know about you but I find it very hard for me to gain weight. I was just 47 kgs when I started my fitness journey and I have struggled a lot throughout this journey. It’s been 11 years since then and at my heaviest, I have weighed around 86 kgs. So, I can say that I have learned a few things when it comes to gaining weight and I’ll share some of them with you today.

Now, let’s talk about hard gainers. They are the ones who find it more challenging and hard putting on some weight no matter what workout routines they follow. But for them, food is the most important and crucial thing.

So, I am going to talk about 5 foods which will actually help you gain weight faster.

 

1.Peanut butter

Peanut butter is a very good source of healthy fats. Being a high calorie food, it has some decent amount of protein too. It is very convenient when you are travelling. You can carry it anywhere you like and eat it with a slice of bread as well. It has a good taste too.

 

2.Whole eggs

You must have heard people say that you should not eat yolk. To some extent, it is true. If you are losing fat, then you must avoid eating too much of yolk.

But, if your goal is to gain muscles, then eating yolk actually helps you. It has some healthy fats and contains some vitamins and minerals.

So, eating eggs can be good for breakfast, lunch and even dinner.

 

3.Liquid foods

Liquid meals are one of the best foods for gaining weight. You can make a smoothie or weight gain shake by mixing a cup of milk with peanut butter, some oats and fruits. You can replace it with your meals as well. The best thing about liquid meals is that it passes your system quickly and doesn’t keep you full for a long period of time, meaning you get hungry soon after and can eat more food.

 

4.Rice/Chuira

Rice is the most convenient food in context of Nepal in order to gain weight. It is available in most of our homes. It has good amount of carbohydrates and some clean calories which can give you energy in your workout.

 

5.Nuts

If you eat 2 – 3 meals in a day, then you can add some in-between snacks. For that you can have any kind of nuts like peanuts, cashew nuts etc. They provide good amount of protein as well as healthy fats. It can also help you in fulfilling your calorie.

People think that they are not gaining weight no matter how much they eat. But the culprit lies in the calories. No matter how much you eat, if you are not taking enough calories then you will not gain weight
