For the majority of people, weight loss is their main problem. However, there are a huge number of people who have a hard time gaining weight no matter how much they eat or how much they work out or how much they sleep.

Also, if you’re too skinny, people won’t take you seriously. It is important to have decent fame and it makes you feel good about yourself as well.

However, the main important thing for weight gain is food and it is affected by how much you eat not just what you eat because every food contains calories and it is also important to know how much calories you should take. So, one of the simple ways of finding out how many calories do you need to gain weight is to use online calorie calculators or what you can simply do is multiply your body weight in kilos by 2.2 and then multiply the result with 15 again.

In short, it’s weight (in kgs) * 2.2 * 15. This will help you find out your body’s maintenance calorie i.e. this is the number of calories that you need to have in order to maintain your weight. So if you are 70kgs, (70 * 2.2 * 15 = 2310) you need 2310 calories to maintain your weight. If you want to gain weight then you can simply add 500-700 calories. Thus, you need (2300 + 500/700) calories to gain weight.

However, this is the technical way because you need to track every single calorie you are consuming but this is also the most accurate method. If you don’t want to go through all the hassle, you should be tracking all your meals for one week and also keep a track of your weight. If you have the same weight after a week then you can understand that the food you have been taking for a week is your maintenance calories. All you need to do is add one or two meals in the same meal that you’re eating. So, adding one or two small snacks can help you slowly put on some weight.

Now the problem of gaining weight is you don’t want to gain fat. So it is important to do exercises and make sure you are also going to the gym 3-4 times a week so that you have a healthy weight gain. Because let’s face it, we want to put on some quality weight, and not fat.
