If you have been skinny for all your life, chances are gaining weight is not that easy. There are a few things which make it hard for you to gain weight. A fast metabolism is one of those i.e. whatever you eat, it gets metabolized quicker and you will hardly gain weight. Eating more is the only solution for this.

But for a lot of people, the limiting factor is their appetite which causes them to eat less food. If you’re among these people, then you need to eat those foods which are less in quantity but dense in calories. For example, foods and vegetables are low in calories but at the same time, they are high in quantity.

So, we will talk about three things you can do in order to gain weight.

1. Weight gain shakes

Weight gain shakes are one of the most convenient sources which can easily be digested in our body. They are easy to make as well. You can carry it wherever you want.

One of my easiest and favorite weight gain recipes is adding a glass of milk in a blender, 2 bananas, honey, some oats, half a cup of yogurt, and a scoop of whey protein if it’s on your budget. This will form a thick shake after blending which is very high in calories but also high in protein. You can have this meal before a workout or before going to school/colleges.

2. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Peanut butter is a very good source of healthy fats and it has some protein as well. It tastes good. You can just simply put one tablespoon of peanut butter on one side of bread and one tablespoon of jam on the other side and voila! Your meal is ready.

The specialty of this is meal is that you can carry it in your tiffin box and you can take it in your office or colleges. And, if you want some extra calories then you can add slices of banana in between the pieces of bread and make a quick delicious sandwich.

3. Adding snacks in between meals

If you’re having 3 meals in a day, then adding 1 or 2 snacks between them won’t be a bad idea. You can eat some handful of nuts, almonds, walnuts or peanuts in between your meals. It won’t be big in quantity but it contains a good amount of calories.

Bonus Tip: Make sure you utilize rice which is cooked at home because rice is very nutritious. It is a very good source of carbohydrates and your body can digest it easily. It also gives you the energy to work for a whole day.

What you eat is what you become. If you want to gain weight, then, of course, you should eat more. But eating more doesn’t mean that you go out to restaurants and binge eat.
